About

Artist Statement
I am a photographic artist working between documentary and fine art.
My practice is rooted in observation — of people, place, and the subtle moments where something real begins to surface. I work intuitively and with care, allowing images to unfold rather than be imposed. Presence matters to me more than perfection.
Alongside this stillness, I bring energy, warmth, and connection. I believe deeply in the power of shared laughter, ease, and trust — not as distraction, but as a way in. Joy is not separate from seriousness; it is often how truth arrives. The atmosphere we create together shapes what becomes possible in front of the lens.
With over three decades of experience, I have learned when to step back and observe — and when to step forward to shape a moment with intention. I am equally drawn to grounded, unscripted documentary work and to the creation of bold, dramatic images that carry presence, power, and emotional charge. These approaches are not opposites for me, but companions.
I am most alive when an image holds both gravity and lift — when it feels soulful and unmistakably human.
My current work continues to evolve through sustained engagement with place, people, and process. I am interested in how meaning accumulates over time — through return, repetition, and attentive looking rather than spectacle. Photography allows me to work slowly and responsively, remaining open to what emerges rather than directing outcomes. I am increasingly drawn to the sequencing of images and the relationships that form between them, allowing narratives to surface quietly. This practice represents both a continuation of my earlier photographic life and a deliberate deepening, grounded in care, presence, and emotional honesty.
This work remains open and ongoing.
What matters is not the performance, but what becomes possible in the space between us.
